Realsportsrealtalk Midweek Commentary: Braves Footman …future is bright…

Lenooris Footman began the 2015 season as the back up to All SWAC , ALL HBCU ,  and Preseason Pick John Gibbs. Gibbs was the 2014 SWAC Player of the Year. Gibbs started the season as usual leading the Braves to win after win. A one point loss to Grambling didn’t hurt as much as the injury he substained on a rainy day in Baton Rouge against Southern. Gibbs substained a high ankle sprain and was sidelined for most of the season. With GAibbs on the shelf, Lenooris Footman got his chance to shine and he did shine as he came in and paced the Braves ground attack to a 48-7 drubbing of the Jaguars. Footman later engineer many more wins as the Braves got on a roll. A 40-34 sat back to PVAMU is the only loss that Footman has endured as starter. Footman’s numbers include 1062 yards rushing and 11 tds on the ground…second to RB D. Ragsdale. Footman’s 962 passing yards and 12 tds is tops for the Braves. Heading into the SWAC Championship game against Grambling, many believed that Gibbs would return to his starting position, however, Coach Hopson elected to stay with the hot youngster as starting QB while Gibbs was the emergency QB. Footman did his usual thing and passed for 202 yards and 3 tds as the Braves blasted the GMEN 49-21 to capture the Celebration Bowl invite. The Super Sophmore has been fantastic and the future seems bright for the Braves. Can he finish the job where the Braves season began in Atlanta?:  Stay tuned…
