Tigers rally past Jags….Braves ease by JSU….AAMU ends on a good note…..

Grambling_State_Tigers_Helmet01Good morning, ok…let’s get to it…..In a game that meant so much to the state of Louisiana and fans alike, the Bayou Classic continues to be a treasure for all. Grambling State spotted Southern 17 points as the Jaguars raced out to an early 20-3 lead. However, as Coach Fobbs might say, the ‘ G” means never give up. The Tigers scored 28 unanswered points enroute to a 34-23 victory over the Jags. QB Johnathan Williams 272 yards passing and 3tds paced the Tigers. WR Chad Williams and Verlan Hunter each reached the endzone for GSU. Southern’s QB Austin Howard 241 yards and 1td paced the Jaguars. WR Willie Quinn 137 yards receiving and 1td paced the Jags pass catchers. With this victory, the GMEN head into Houston undefeated and on fire when the rematch with Alcorn State takes place with a birth to the Celebration Bowl on tap.

Alcorn State took it easy as the Braves eased by struggling Jackson State 14-10 in Jackson , MS. Braves RB D. Ragsdale 104 rushing and 3tds paced the Braves ground game. ASU may have been saving their passing game for the upcoming rematch with Grambling in Houston for all the marbles.

AAMU Bulldogs ended their season on a high note as they disposed of the TSU Tigers 38-7 at home. QB D. Ballard 251 and 2 tds paced the Bulldogs passing game. RB B. Eldimire 105 yards rushing with 1 td paced the Bulldog’s ground game…..
